571 – Mythbustin’, 40K style
Yet another burning question answered.
And please welcome the as-yet-unofficial Star Phantoms chapter over at Bell of Lost Souls. These guys are wearing Gearoge Miller’s design which is currently leading in the voting for the Star Phantom’s color scheme, so I thought I’d give them a look.

Nice paint scheme!

Well, at least they don’t have to change a lot when fulfilling their deathwatch duty.
The comic strip reminds me of Commando……hillarious *GGGG*

If you’re close enough to smell them, it’s too late.

I can smelll em HAH. I have always wondered why peole leave those off. I just wanted to say that this comic has alwyas made me laufgh! And you have come a long way from the lumpy un painted marines that started out in Jack (I realize this strip has nothing to do with the pointy sticks)

Duke Nathaniel, I too had such a dilemma on my hands when I first started a Marine Army. I looked at the GW Chapter Gallery because I was reasonably sure I wanted to name my chapter the “Fire Hawks”. Turns out, that one was already taken, and I didn’t like the color scheme or the fluff much. So I invented my own successor chapter to the Fire Hawks, called the Fire Falcons, lol, and I used the scheme I had developed. They’ve come out great so far!
Point is, you could do the same thing. Look for a color scheme that kindof looks similar to yours in the Chapter Gallery thing over at GW.com, and then formulate a name based off of that Chapter’s name. It worked for me!

Long, long ago when the first “space womble” set of plastic marines came out a friend was feeling silly.
So he painted them up in white, with a blue, grey and pink cammo pattern and used a pink triangle for the chapter badge. So where born the Screaming Queens, Imperial Space Marines.
Not half as funny as the sticks, but still funny nonetheless.

I like the color scheme, very nice.
But i could see some kind of crimson fist type style on the hands.
Change them to match the helmets and shoulders?

Shayde: The Star Phantoms are not my idea, so I used George’s design straight from the choices on Bell of Lost Souls. Although I agree, turquoise hands might be cool…

Duke i somewhat agree with Fire Falcons Chapter Master. i made my chapter roughly three years back and then i look in the new marine codex and they have a chapter with a rough similarity to my idea for a symbol and name. a second ideo is, when thinking of a symbol think of the Crimson Fists and use an existing chapters symbol and have it a different colour.

Ah i see,
Will this new chapter start making regular appearances in the comic?
or was it just a quick stint?
Keep up the good work anyways!
can’t have my day without my TSOALR laughs

FireFalconsChapterMaster: Guess what i collected a while before i noticed that the name was used… Fire Hawks…

They don’t wear helmets so as to inspire the men. Alas…the men wished they wouldn’t draw fire whilst inspiring them.

my marines started off as 2nd edition legion of the damned. then 3rd came out and they became useless.
so i converted my chaplain into Baron Samedi (the tophat was a pain), re-named them the Galactic Voodoo Posse, and made them count as salamanders.
