To go along with the name of this section of the board, let's hear some funny things that happened while you were playing a game.

For me, a few weeks ago we were playing a 500pt partol battle and we were using the reserves rules. I thought I was lucky with getting my Tyranid Warriors out before anyone else had fielded on the board. It was a 4 way battle and the last person was a Guard player. It turns out that my bugs were in firing range and he managed to wipe out one of my 3 warriors. Well 1 out of 3 took me down to below 25% and I failed my leadership test so without so much as a single action my HQ for the round was off the table.

(later I learned that Synapse bugs don't have to make leadership rolls, but it was pretty funny at the time.)

My Chaplain killed a mutated Hive Tyrant (WS 7, S 7) in CC, without taking a wound. The Emporer must love me.

A friend of mine was playing a Tyranid army with his Eldar - 1000 points. The Eldar shot and killed every Tyranid before they could even get close enough to wound any Eldar. It got down so that there was one Carnifex left against a full 1000 points of Eldar. All the Eldar shot at the Carnifex, and after a full turn's shooting they failed to even take one single wound from him.

I've lost a ten man Terminator squad, along with a Captain in Termie armour in one round of shooting.

No, that's not the bad bit. Imperial Guard shooting.

It was a massive - 25K pts a side - game during the Eye of Terror campaign, good lost this slaughter, and the dice were against us as two blood thirsters appeared in close proximity to each other. Maugan Ra buys some time and distracts one for a turn. my Death Company Chaplain enraged but unharmed by the loss of his charges black rages himself into charge range and slaughters the said blood thirster. Sweeping advance carries him onto the second to await reprisal. The blood thirster swipes, hits and fails to wound while my chaplain beats his knee caps him to death - the 'thirster model was 8" tall. For dessert my chaplian charges a fresh unit of blood letters, whipes them out to a man and retires after killing half of a second unit of blood letters.

At the LAGT 2003, my guard were battling against Necrons. One of my front infantry buffer squads gets whittled down to a single trooper with a missile launcher. On my turn, with a Monoloth looming right in front of him, he makes his All on your own test, takes aim, and rolls 6 to hit, 6 to glance, 6 to destroy the monoloth! It was a beautiful moment.

On the necron player's turn, the necrons ignores the single trooper, so on my turn, I roll the all on your own test again, and he fails and starts retreating. I guess he figured his job here was done, and he was going home to get his medal!

During EoT a 16 player 600pt per person game left me with only 4 Death Company who proceeded (with adequate fire support) to cross fire 8 cultist units from a lost and the dammed army.
I also chased and wiped out an entire ten man squad of chaos terminators (inlcuding lord) with 1 assault marine.

Back in Third Edition before they started fixing things, I had my Blood Angels in a game of Carnage. Thanks to the fact that I "failed" my Black Rage check, my Death Company Rhino was able to get six inches forward, 12 from normal movement, and another few inches from the overcharged engine which resulted in my DC assulting the Chaos player across from me in the first turn in his own deployment zone. Now considering that said player was unfamillar with Blood Angels, that was one priceless look on his face.

Nowadays you can't do that anymore...

(And yes, I'm hoping that the BAs get fixed and regain their old glory with the new codex...)

A week ago, I was playing a 1500 point game with my World Eaters against Necrons. He had a pretty standard army with 40 warriors (2 squads of 10, and one of 20), a Lord (with Immortal retinue), a Tomb Spyder, 3 Wraiths, 2 Heavies, and 2 Destroyers. I had 4 squads of 8, tricked out with chain-axes and furious charge. The champions also had plasma pistols, Axes of Khorne, and Feel no Pain. I also had a Defiler (which was a glorified distraction), a Bloodthirster, and a squad of Bloodletters.

Turns 1 and 2 involved the mad dash to get into melee. In that time, he reduced one squad (the one charging the 20-warrior squad) of berserkers to just the champion, and a different squad (the decoy squad... heh) to just 2 men (including the champion). I got everybody into melee at the top of 3 (except for the Bloodletters; they didn't play much of a role as they only came in at the top of 4 to watch). I routed his lord (killed retinue, lord whiffs, loses morale save, loses attempt to escape) with the squad whose champion became the daemon, and my lone gunman charged the 20 necron squad (19 because of plasma).

The real point of this post is the lone gunman. He charged that huge squad by himself, and won combat in the top of three. He stayed alive and won combat again in the bottom of three, and they made their second morale save. In the top of four, I won combat on the other side of the table, leaving his huge mass of warriors locked in combat with my champion as the main bastion of numbers. My champion won combat for the third time in a row (gotta love Feel no Pain), and this time they failed their morale check! They broke, and they failed to roll high enough to flee. That's right. The lone gunman, who had whittled them down to 14 or 15 ran them down and took craniums for the skull throne.

That was more than enough to phase what was left out. Something tells me that my lone aspiring champion is no longer aspiring. ;)

so this is Magic, but its dam funny.

I was watching a tournament game, the players were sitting next to a window. One of the players had his girfriend there, and DAM was she board...

So as the players are intently playing their game the girl gets up and walks out of the store. Nobody really pays all that much attention to that. At least untill she appears at the window -- and lifts up her dress. The whole store goes "WOW" and the two plaeys review the board thinking they missed a critical move or something.
