wow... i know this cannot hope to beat you all, but one time i got my thumb stck to some proton grenades onto a fire warrior, and glued my thumb the grenades. I left it therefor like a minute to let it set, and then pulled my thumb away, while pulling the model by the chest with my other hand. my thumb stuck, and the fire warrior was shredded. the top half flew of, bounced off the wall, breaking it;s head and arm off, and then landed in some spilt red paint. It looked like a kroot party to say the least..

I was at a turny here in Edmonton in '93 (2nd ed), I don't kow how this one fellow got into the turny. My Dark Angels vs Blood Angels. (sort of....)

His Blood Angel forces consisted of one painted model, Dante. the rest were proxied unpainted Eldar, Ork, and headless guard units. his landraider he borrowed from his buddy (who needed it at the time, it was painted space wolf)

we used half the time alotment to get his army list strightened out, then his 'friend' pulled his landraider so he could use it in his next battle.

it was to be his first game of 40K, the judges kindly sent him to the painting corner to finish Dante's jumppack command squad.

to this day i hate proxy armies.

In a recent Lotr game, I was eager to use my new Mumakil. Now, it was an e-bay Mumakil, and I am repainting it, but more importantly than that, It was in pieces. I was able to get the Howdah (the big platform on top) to stay on through luck and balance, but the head was a lost cause. I was all set to go with Lenny the Headless Mumakil but the manager refused to let me.

Another time a 1000pt game ended with one Chaplain on the field. Only one chaplain. Luckily, it was mine.

The one game I will never forget. I was playing against a guy who was either an idiot, or a genius. We both started placeing our minis. I was very focused, and after I was done, I readied my codex and army list. The other guy said: Okay, I'm ready. I looked at his army. I just dropped my codex at the sight of his army. A commander, a chaplain, a librarian and an ENITRE company. That's right, 100 normal Space Marines. A few missle launchers, no tanks or other forms of support, just pure Marines. I still have nightmares about being swarmed by companies of Space Marines.

Ouch, that sucks.

I assume he had a command squad, as he can't field 3 HQ choices then.

Yeah swarm anything with marines and you'll win :P

mY favorite moment in a 40k game was when my 10 terminators took on a squad of storm guardians , and an avatar on in CC at once. In three turns, the avatar was dead, and most of the storm guardians with it. None of the Terminators died. I passed like eleven 5+ saves.

Nice story, but not particularly funny. Remember this is for FUNNY stories.

I asked him about that, and he said he had a command squad, and 3 full devastator squads.

I really fear the day I get swarmed by Ripper Swarms. Such an army can kill everything.

Well, i think it was kind of funny. It was really, weird, first I would survive a mind war on three saves, then a shurikan pistol downed one of the termies. It was amusing, but I guesss you had to be there.

One time i was vsing a guy at the local shoppe. He had an Imperial Guard company on the field, I was using my space marines (yay!) As we were deploying he said he was keeping one unit in reserve. I didn't question him on it becuase I wasn't really concered until I noticed he only had what I later learned was about 250 points of Guardsmen and chimeras on the field. Now this being a 1000 point game, I was confuzzled to say the least. So we get the game rolling and each turn he rolls reserves, he doesn't succceed until turn 5. By this time all I had left was my Terminator Librarian and a Predator Anhilator, when suddenly he shouts "BONUS!" and sets his forgeworld BANEBLADE on the table. This thing was pro painted (i excpect he hired someone to do it.) and looked gorgeous, was even prayed down with a varnish or sealant of somekind to preserve it. Anyways, First round, my Librarian fires a Vortex of Doom at it, but fail the psyker test, but pass the armour save. I hold my Predator Back a bit and fire its full volley of lascannons at it, but they plink off (best was a 3). He decides to taunt me and fires ALL of his weapons at my librarian. So, i make about half the armour saves and failed the rest. The rest of his guardsmen just kinda sat around smoking sinsticks apparently having decided to let the Baneblade finish me off. Next round comes, I fire my lascannons at his Baneblade again and rolled THREE 6's, scoring penetrating hits. Next roll for effect and got two vehicles destroyed and one vehicle exploded, and toasted all three Structure points on the Baneblade. He just kind sat there open mouthed because that one shot basically won the game, since he was banking on just killing me off and not taking the tokens on my half of the table, so my tank was in scoring position for three of them (being the closest unit) while his Guard only had 2.

Never saw the guy again. Just goes to show you. An unpainted and *very* poorly assembld (there are gaps in the armour, and the sponsons and turret are glued in place) can still beat up a supertank if it gets lucky.

kren and frep and jack, (or the dreadys) should be swarmed by rippers...
and die, even though rippers cannot really dammage a land raider.
