Tournament Army in 10 days, Thank god it was only 17 models

Postby AJ » Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:09 pm

All the models are not finished as there is smaller detail to add to the figures.

The tournament was a doubles tournment, each player had 1000pts. My team mate was a blood angels player. Out of all of the Marine armies, we were the only two who didn't have Chaplains. Much to my surprise and glee, I won best painted with them and also came 2nd overall.

For those interested, they are from my Space Marine army the Desert Ghosts.

Very, very nice. I love the shading on the models. that must have been a labor of love.

Also, i like the poses of the models. Very active. Nice.

Couldn't find a comfortable way to place it on the apoc. without covering the gauntlet. :)

very nice painting.

did you use them as a DeathWing army?

or was it a "bring 1000 points of random armyness" tournament?

either way, extremely good work.

Hahah, i wish i could paint like that. Especially under pressure! I love how the on e thunder hammer has a searchlight on the top of it...so the victim can better see his bloody death as his innards are mercillesly (and very slowly, thunderhammers) ripped outa his body. I'm just fooling, thats really good stuff. Great librarian, you painted the new model marvelously!

I put a scope on one of my veteran sergeant's swords. Don't ask me why, just know that it seemed really funny at 3:00AM after copious amounts of Dr. Pepper.

*Sigh*

I decided that it becomes a power weapon, so it didn't turn out too terrible.

After that completely unrelated rambling, I actually have a relevant comment: With your boss model, I think i see a necron glowy-thing on there, but I can't quiiiite make out what the weapon is. I am very intrigued, so if you could post a pic of the weapon, or describe it or something, that would be great,

Obviously adding a scope would increase the accuracy of the sword swings...

The terminators are very well painted but I must say, the names of the squads do not seem to match the models. Just sayin. Shooty Squad. Really?
