Alright, so I just got a new box of Terminators for the Space Marines (Buddy gave me a 15 dollar gift card to my hobby shop!, so scored them for 36 dollars after tax), but I already have two well developed squads, each numbering about 7 models with paired heavy weapons. So I am going to turn these chaps into a Dark Angels successor. Now, my since I had already painted them in Ultramarine Colours I need to strip the paint from them. My usual method is to use Easy Off oven cleaner, then a raggedy toofbrush, and spend the next 2 hours scrubbing each model to get all the paint off.
On tuesday, a buddy of mine at school showed me the TSOALR from waaaay back (one of the first 15 as I recall) where Kren and Frep are mis painted, and then dunked in Brake Fluid to clean them. that got me to thinking that might be easier, but before I go out and buy some brake fluid and test it on one of my models (I have a few junkers to test run though) I just wanted to ask if anyone here has every actually used Brake Fluid of any sort to do this, and if so does it work while leaving the model undamaged. My pater warned me against trying it on any valuable models since he figures that if it will remove the paint, it will melt them too.
So, anyone here ever tried brake fluid paint removal?
