Pink Templars Anyone???

Postby gwpainter » Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:38 pm

I have been trying hard to get the entire family into 40k. And somewheres on the internets i found some who tried "Hello Kitty" Marines. Sooo, to get my youngest girl into it, I painted a small squad of pink templars and can be played with the black templars and let her do all the decision making, moving and rolling and so forth for that squad and see if she gets into it.

I made decals for the shoulder pads, Kept the guys poses limited so when they get dropped i can fix ez. They need something else. a buddy here suggested purple highlights. Any other suggestions??

Although they look good, the Hello Kitty Marines and Sisters should be purged with fire and faith.

Highlights are generally better being a higher colour. I'd say Tentacle pink mixed with a few drops of white will get you somewhere you want to be, do some low-lighting with purples and maybe so far as a brown.

Sadly, they look good, but only from a painting perspective. Beyond that, ow, my limited taste!

:P

That is quality!
I'd love to feild an army painted like that! xD
Nice. (: I think they're good how they are, if they're only a gaming army you don't want to be going into massive detail or you'll never get them done.

I have an idea, for the vehicles try gluing on parts of plusie-hello-kitty dolls.

Those are great! I say go with the purple highlights.

A few ideas that might help...

Paint the "flex" parts between the armour plates. That alone would go 100% toward making them look finished. Right now, they look 90% done, and I think that's what's making it look like you need something else.

Paint the eye lenses a contrasting color. Green or blue. What color are Hello Kitty's eyes?

Finish the purity seals. Highlight the ribbon with bleached bone, and paint the seal part a deep red.

Those little details I think are that "something else" you are looking for.

Crimson Fist, Thanks for the Great ideas.

I will contrast the eye lenses, you are right. I inked them red along with the "flex" parts. They do need changing.

Purity seals is a givin....I will do something with those also....

I will post photos when i get to them....in a week or so....after finals....
