I was playing tyranids against my dad's imperial gaurd (yes my dad plays 40k) And my gaunts were chewing up everything until they got to the command squad.

Unlike other stories it wasn't the imperial gaurd heroic leader with poweer sword that killed many gaunts, it was the psyker of all models. The Pysker had rolled and gotten the bonus that helps his sqaud gain attacks in close combat.

the leader, even with the pyskers bonus only killed one TERMAGAUNT (not even the dreaded close combat gaunts) while the psyker goes and kills three easily two turns in row, thats as far as we got.

Hi all long time reader who finaly joined the forums.

Anyway to my story, I'm a big fan of the game (mostly the art, story, and model painting) and I have Dawn of War the game so i dont know if this counts. Well anyway, at a lan party me and my friend were playing a lan game I was my Eldar army called the S'ith  and he played the Blood angels. We fought at the Valley of Khrone 1vs 1 match and i mannaged to push back to his base. I have fully resarched my amy and noted that my bone singer could teleport to places hidden in the fog of war. So i send all my infantry into a webb way gate and have them wait then i teleport my bone singer into the far back of my friends base( luckly nobody was there) and had it build another webway gate. soon my friend launches a counter attack but finds no army, as soon as i heard him say "where the hell did you go?" i sprang my trap my whole army (minise the vehicals) teleprted into the middle of his base  and whiped him of the face of the map.

Worst thing happened on last thursday.

My mate, Keith, wanted to start 40k after being against it for 4 years. He played the intro game instore (Tyrinids Vs. Marines)

The game is usually completely Biased towards the new player and the GW staff member does really noobey statagies. Keith picked the 'nids. So you take something like the Carnifex, usually about 12 attacks with its extras. ONLY HE COULD GET *ALL* ONES! ALL! Not a single Hit! Gaunts, Genestealers, didnt get anywere near the marines! All the 'nids died. and 2 marines died. AND the marines did the objective (Save the Imperial Pilot with the Gene Seed). I realise this entire game we play relies on luck and skill. But twelve ones?! Its not right!!! :?

Carnifexes may be huge, scary, and powerful but they could'nt hit air with a machine gun

Nids are my addiction, I tried too statrt a Marine army after my fisrt nids but it died after a few months when the Hive mind Started to call me again.

I am a novice at Nids compared to some of the poeple on warpshadow though, who have been playing since nids first came out.

"Hey Hive tyrant, I'm gunna take you on with my storm troopers!"

"Hey Storm Troopers! I'm gunna eat your toes!!!"

"Ahh! Wound! Wound! ... they failed!"

*all die save one Guardsman, who passed his LT*

"I art a manly! you take one wound!"

"Hmm, one wound eh? well, EAT MY TALONS OF AWESOME!"

*dead*

Sniff...

I think it would be easier to understand if you put who was talking

for example:

Guard: Blah Blah Blash

Nid: hiss hiss, gribble.......drool

I kinda get it, but it's still confusing. :( You need to do what TF suggested, would work much better than just quoting things they'd say! :?

Very Odd

Yeah I'm knew to this forum after reading it for some time.

Well anyway one of my friends had never won a single game ever. So I felt sorry for him and decided to play him in a breakout (I was tau, he was IG). So what happened was I was stuck in the middle with no terrain, and he surrounded me with a lascannon in every squad, sentinels, tanks, etc., etc., etc., So needless to say he gets first turn and manages to take out a devilfish. I think it's still good and order all my troops to breakout towards the weaker side. Two railguns, an ioncannon, and several pulse rifle volleys later, a guardsman goes down. After that I kinda quit and we agreed that next time we need terrain.

Same friend, this time playing orks, shoves his entire army into an alley. Needless to say my stealth teams deep strikes into one end, my fire warriors the other, and a few pieplates too. The first two massacred most of the mobs. Then when my fire warriors fire he says that the squad that I fired is hard boyz and they get a 4+ save, so my warriors can't ignore their save. So I shoot and he fails all of them. Ouch.

Once my termis swept the board of ultramarines. First they took out a ten man squad of assult marines in hth, not losses. Then they gun down Tgerius. Finally, they get in close combat with a predator and blow it up six times over. All this in two turns after they deep strike around a telehomer. My opponet was just silent and kind of angery.

My new assault terms ARE fairly rocking... Luck must be smiling on me... for a change.

Ahh! Chaos Landraider! Never fear! Assault terms with thunderhammers, ahoy!

Okay, So I don't know the rule that did it, but my terms took a few hits from it but no fatalities.

5 hits. 5 x crew stunned. 3 penetrating...
