On the way to a game

I remember a few from the last tournament I was in.

At the end of the 6th round, the Space marine army has 2 quarters, and the IG has one.

He holds one quarter by his 3 termies, and he's next to 3 guardsmen.

Since it's the last turn of the game, he decided to assault the 3 guardsmen, for the fun of it. Well, I don't know how 3 termies with lightning claws managed to not kill any of the guard... And then in their attack, the three guardsmen killed off the termies.

In my own personal game, I had 18 marines charge an inquisitor.
36 attacks on the charge.

4 hits.
No wounds.
Yup...

He didn't even have to roll a single armor save or anything.

Pure horror to me at the time.

there is one thing that happens with alarming regularity during the few games I have...

When I get a particularly lousy spate of dice rolls, I have been known to discard the fiendish dice and replace them with an all new set from my dice box.

Without fail, the new dice then proceed to roll just as badly, if not worse, than the exterminatus dice...

Most inconvenient...

I heard some disturbed individuals microwave their "jinxed" dice.

Now that's extreme prejudice to the random number generator cubes...

A Funny thing happened

I built together the carnifex "old one eye" some weeks ago. I sculpted a heavy wounded Space Marine Seargant inside one claw. Since no one really dies on the table, ever wondered if the sergeant is bored, or both get friends and old one eye uses his claw-glued comrade to lift him up to give him a better sight over the table, or...

I once bought a ravener, but there were two left arms in the blister.
Actually that was not that funny for me at that moment, but nevermind...

A friend of mine (who doesn't play tabletop), asked me when he saw a Land Raider for the first time, if Marines who use the side hatches to exit, don't get hit by the Lascannons right beside them...

I noticed that as well...but the land raider crusader's got the doors the other way round (h. bolters at the front).

it hapened agen to me a few monthes later playing gaurd, 3 destroyers shoot , 2 miss, 7 1ns

i think they have their gauss cannons set to mildly warm with a hint of green

i eather roll really well or increadably bad my ld 10 marines are always failing tests, plasma overheating and killin my own all the time

but in 1 game i had my command squad take out 1200 points in a 1850 point game witch includes a wraith lord that took 3 armour saves for being out numberd and it failed its saves

I always got around that little issue by building Land Raiders to have the lascannons on the forward position, with the hatch behind them. Wrong maybe, but I'm picky about that sort of thing. I always try to position spiky bits (on Chaos) or accessories (for Guard) so that all weapons will be able to face any direction that the model suggests they should.

I was playing my friends Tau with my 13th company, he had managed to already get my Rune Priest down to 1 wound. So when I got the Rune Priest in to combat with a firewarrior squad, I took all but one down. But then he amazinly rolled 6's both to hit then to wound with this one Tau, but to cheeze me off even more I failed my 3+ save! :x

A phenomenom that isn't funny or unlikely but pretty disturbing: SDT-
Statistical Dice Throwers. To my shame it was me who did it first time, and now most of my game-friends do. -You throwed 1's with those dice? Save them for later, they'll be 6's then most likely- It works mostly, at least that's my impression but I stopped it long ago, koz it's annoying waiting for friends who position all their dices to the 1-position, and then throw them to maximise their rolling-6-chances. It costs too much time to be amusing. But you should know, sometimes it works like hell, so if you play against someone who by your objective, friendly meaning, really deserves it...

By the way I seem to be one of those persons, born without tactical feeling. In 95% I'm playing against my one of my best friends (Space M.) since 5 years. 1500 points game, my tyranids completely removed from the table (which happens often to me), but this time, I caused simply completely nothing. He had not one casualty, no vehicle crew shaked, or gun destroyed. Please somebody tell me I'm not the only one. Than, that other time I lost, I scored quite some few kills, but at the end the victory-points-charts told us I was DOUBLE massacred ... I'm hoping all the time, that Tyranids get their next Codex so soon (rumours:june), because I'm not the only one mourning about having problems and being stupid and...

You wanna beat Space Marines? 1500 points? Use Old One Eye, more Carnifex's and lictors. Also loads of 'Stealers. Use the Lictors o tie up his units and follow up with loads and loads of 'stealers...about 50....then march up with the Carnifexes blasting those S10 bio weapons and get into assault, Use Old One Eye as a support for the other carnifex's. You might want to include some warriors for extra fire support. Remember, the tyranids strength is in assault, get there quick and you should overwhelm him, heck take a squad of 30 odd 'gaunts, just as cannon fodder and to tie the enemy up. The tyranids drop to shootin very quickly so the quicker you restrict that the better

Hope this helps, :)

And for this, thanks to Ahmato. It's worth a try. Nevertheless, since I need to save of what's little left of my gamer-ego, there's one more Iron Warrior-player in the world since Christmas. I think of myself as somebody so tactically useless, that I deseve at least a little bit playing such an "pretty high ability to be cheesy"- army. BUT SORRY EVERYONE! I'LL RETURN TO THE TOPIC NOW!!!
